Odisha reported 3,144 new with the single-day exposure with the cumulative case to 2,44,142. The death toll has now reached 974, with 16 more patients succumbed to death due to Coronavirus within the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases reported from across 30 districts, 1,825 were detected from various quarantine centres, while 1,319 are local contact cases.
Around 2, 13,672 people have recovered from COVID-19 while 29,443 are active cases.
According to the Health and Family Welfare department Khordha district reported 562 positive cases followed by Cuttack -243, Puri- 122, Angul- 128 and Kalahandi- 124.
Out of 16 people who succumbed to death, four deaths were reported from Balasore district, four from Balasore, four from Bhubaneswar, two were reported from Kalahandi, two from Mayurbhanj, two from Nayagarh. One death each was reported from Sundergarh and Jharsuguda districts.
Official reports reveal 49909 samples were tested on Wednesday for COVID-19 that include 8051 RT-PCR, 41729 samples via Antigen testing, and 129 samples via Truenat testing, taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the state to 3619509.
