Depression Over Bay Of Bengal By Nov 29

The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre reported that a low-pressure area is expected to form over the South Andaman Sea and its surroundings around November 27 and intensify into a depression around November 29.

However, there isn’t a weather warning for Odisha from the weather service. After a few locations in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, and one or two locations in Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Ganjam, and Nuapada districts experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers during the day, the state is expected to experience dry weather until the end of this month (November 30). It further stated that there won’t be a significant shift in the overnight temperature over the following five days.

However, squally weather is predicted by the Met Office, with wind speeds of up to 30 mph gusting to 50 mph over the South Andaman Sea on November 26, 40 mph gusting to 60 mph over the same sea and adjacent Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 27 and 28, and 45 mph gusting to 65 mph over the same sea and adjacent Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 29 and 30. It is advised that fishermen avoid the Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 27 and the South Andaman Sea on November 26–27.

The agency stated in its Tropical Weather Outlook that additional intensification of this system into a cyclonic storm is indicated by the GFS group of models. These models show that until December 1, there will be an initial west-northwestward movement, and then there will be a northward movement. On December 3, a progressive weakening is predicted over the west-central Bay of Bengal, it continued.
