Over the course of the following day, the depression over the Bay of Bengal is probably going to get even worse and turn into a deep depression. The India Meteorological Department said that it is expected to travel northwestward during the course of the next twelve hours. After that, it is probably going to do a U-turn and go northeasterly over the course of the next three days, towards Bangladesh and the nearby coast of West Bengal.

It was centered over the same area, roughly 600 km south of Paradip (Odisha), 760 km south of Digha (West Bengal), and 900 km south-southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). Its impact is expected to bring mild to moderate rain and thundershowers to sections of coastal Odisha. For the remainder of the districts, dry weather is most expected to prevail.
