At Maritime Week 2025, which is being held at Mumbai’s NESCO Grounds, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi officially opened the Odisha Pavilion on Monday. The department of Commerce and Transport set up the stand, which showcases the state’s current advancements in port-led development as well as its illustrious nautical heritage.
“I visited the Odisha Pavilion and was deeply impressed by the display showcasing our state’s remarkable maritime journey. From the ancient seafaring glory of Kalinga to Odisha’s growing role in global trade connectivity, our coastal heritage continues to inspire progress and innovation,” the CM said.
Majhi pointed out that Odisha is now a major node in India’s Eastern Maritime Corridor because to its advantageous location, forward-thinking port strategy, and integrated approach to maritime development. “We want to preserve our rich maritime traditions while developing a blue economy that is modern, sustainable, and globally connected for Odisha,” he continued.
Senior authorities, including Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Transport Department, Usha Padhi, and Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department, Hemant Sharma, attended the occasion.
