About six of the 39 ministers who were admitted into the Cabinet of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on December 15 have not yet assumed leadership roles in their respective departments. According to government insiders, the delay is the result of their annoyance at the non-allocation of lucrative departments while some of them have taken family vacations.
Minister of State for Public Health and Energy Meghana Sakore-Bordikar, Minister of Food and Drug Administration Narahari Zirwal, and Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation Makrand Patil assumed leadership of their respective departments at their designated Mantralayan chambers. According to sources, six ministers will assume leadership roles this week or the following week.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called a cabinet meeting. These ministers might not be present at the meeting tomorrow. It is anticipated that Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister, will not attend Thursday’s cabinet meeting because he is also on vacation overseas. Dattamama Bharne, an NCP minister who was elected from the Indapur constituency, has publicly voiced his disapproval of the distribution of the ministries of Aukaf, minority affairs, and sports.
