Due To Trough Sweeps In Bay Of Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh to Experience Wet Weather

The cyclonic storm Jawad brought down its wrath upon Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in the form of heavy rains earlier this week. Due to which the states are set to witness a fresh spell of rainfall, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the reports, a trough in easterlies is set to sweep across the Southwest Bay of Bengal to central parts of the north Bay of Bengal in lower levels. The westwards movement of the trough will result in isolated to scattered rainfall over the east peninsular coast and Odisha during the next 2-3 days. Isolated heavy showers have been particularly forecast over Coastal Andhra Pradesh today, December 9, 2021.

Further, in view of these predictions, the IMD has placed a yellow watch over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on December 9, urging residents to ‘be updated’ on the weather situation.

As for the mercury levels, no large change in the minimum temperatures is expected during the next two days, but there will be a gradual decline by 3-4°C in the subsequent three days over parts of Odisha, as per the IMD.
