ED Raids Multiple Locations In Odisha For Sahara Land Case

In a fresh development in the Sahara Prime City land case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided multiple premises of the company and its officials in Odisha and two other states. As per information, the raids led to the seizure of electronic evidence, including WhatsApp communications, contact records, and call details, officials confirmed.

The searches were carried out by the ED’s Kolkata Zonal Office on Tuesday at Bhubaneswar and Berhampur in Odisha. The central agency also raided locations in Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh), and Ballari in Karnataka Bhubaneswar, and Berhampur (Odisha). Several financial records and incriminating documents were seized for detailed examination during the operation, sources said.

The ED recorded statements from a number of people under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, as part of the investigation. The issue concerns Sahara Prime City Limited’s purportedly fraudulent sale of a property tract in Berhampur, Odisha.

An investigation revealed that about 32 of the 43 acres of property in Berhampur, Odisha, had been sold in December 2025 on the basis of a revoked board resolution. The deal went against the Supreme Court’s directives and was made in favor of a Sahara employee. The claimed selling consideration and the land’s true market worth differed, as the ED pointed out. Additionally, it was discovered that senior Sahara Group officials oversaw the deal. The Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited (HICCSL) case, in which several FIRs were filed for depositor fraud, has been connected to the inquiry.
