‘Enormous Damage To US Security Agencies By Trump Administration’ Says Joe Biden

Joe Biden recently stated that the agencies are critical to US security which has suffered “enormous damage” at the Trump administration’s hands. Biden’s team wasn’t able to get the information it needed including from the Department of Defence, as it transitioned to power.

As per the BBC report, Mr Biden, after a briefing by the National security and foreign policy aides, spoke about the matter stating that the US security suffered heavy damage in Trump’s administration.

After his remark, Acting Defence Secretary Christopher Miller stated officials had been working with the utmost professionalism to support transition activities. “The Department of Defense has conducted 164 interviews with over 400 officials and provided over 5,000 pages of documents – for more than initially requested by Biden’s transition team,” he said after a briefing by national security and foreign policy aides.

Joe Biden also stated that his team was facing roadblocks in the Department of Defence and the Office of Management and Budget. As of now, the team is not getting any information that they should be getting from the outgoing administration in key national security areas. And the whole point is kind of irresponsibility, as depicted by Mr Biden.

The report further stated that Mr Biden’s team needed a clear picture of our force posture worldwide and that US adversaries could exploit any confusion that resulted.

Joe Biden after winning will take office on 20 January, but President Donald Trump has refused to accept defeat in November’s election. For weeks after the 3 November election, Mr Biden was blocked from receiving key intelligence briefings, an essential and normal routine part of a presidential transition.
