Fit India Cyclothon Campaign Organised By BMC In Bhubaneswar

The ‘Fit India Cyclothon Campaign‘ was organized in Bhubaneswar, and the event was turned out to be a huge victory.
Around 300 cyclists participated in the event even during this drop temperature winter. The event was flagged off Ekamra Plaza near Sishu Bhawan Square, organised by Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation last Sunday.


As per the reports the cyclists covered around 12.1-kilometre distance to the trip at Sikharchandi Hills. Prem Chandra Chaudhary, BMC Commissioner-cum-CEO of Smart City along with Minati Mohapatra who is an Arjuna Awardee Cyclists were presented in the event and participated. Minati requested the people to remain fit by doing cycling. During this pandemic, it is imperative to stay healthy and increase the immunity boost for ourselves. The physical activities will help us to keep fit and fight against this deadliest virus.

Prem Chandra Chaudhary started that the resident welfare associations have started adopting cycling as a community activity. Even BMC has been removing encroachments from cycle tracks along with the Priority Road Network.


BMC Additional Commissioner Surath Chandra Mallick, GM -Administration Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited Kamaljit Das, GM Ashwini Kumar Bishwal, Zonal Deputy Commissioner (South East) Anshuman Rath, Assistant Commissioner (PR & Communication) Lilan Prasad Sahoo were also presented in the event.


Under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth Services and Sports along with the guidance of Smart City Mission of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the event was a part of a theme campaign as “Fitness ki dose, adha ghanta Roz’’. This slogan is to make the nation fit, healthy and youthful.
