Flood Situation Deteriorates In Bhadrak, Schools Shut In Two Blocks

Schools in flood-affected regions, especially in the Dhamnagar and Chandbali blocks, would be off for two days, according to the Bhadrak district government. The district administration made this choice since the flood scenario is still looming over a number of the district’s sections, with low-lying districts still experiencing waterlogging.

Waterlogging continues in low-lying places even after the Baitarani River’s floodwater levels have decreased. Four panchayats—Sohada, Padhani, Arjunpur, and Hasanabad—as well as 26 schools have been touched in the Dhamnagar block. According to reports, schools in Santrapur, Mua, BSS, Banka Munha, and Bodak in Chandbali block have also been impacted. The government is keeping a careful eye on the situation and trying to lessen the effects of the floods in the interim.

Sources claim that low-lying regions have been submerged by the floodwaters, disrupting daily life. At Sakhal, the river is flowing at 17.77 meters, while the water level at Akhuapada is 18.33 meters.
