A young person from Saptasati Vihar in the Palasuni neighborhood was detained by Mancheswar police on Wednesday for allegedly defrauding three young people of Rs 13 lakh by promising to provide them jobs in the police department. Debabrata Palei, a resident of Saptasati Vihar in the Palasuni neighborhood inside the Mancheswar police jurisdiction, has been named as the culprit. Palei was detained as a result of a complaint made by a man named Balaram Pradhan who claimed that Palei had defrauded him of money by promising to secure him a position in the police department.
A motorbike and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that Palei was in possession of have been confiscated by the police. He has been sent to court, according to the police. According to a news statement from the police, Palei confessed to his crime and informed the officers that he had been defrauding others in order to live a nice lifestyle. In Saptasati Vihar, Palasuni, within the boundaries of the Mancheswar police station, Palei was running a business under the name and branding of D2-S Solutions. Palei allegedly promised to offer positions in several government ministries in addition to marketing and publicity on social media sites.
When approached by Mritunjay, a friend of Pradhan’s, the accused Palei made a job offer in the Odisha Police. On March 17 of this year, Pradhan and his parents arrived at Palei’s workplace after receiving a call from the latter. Palei demanded Rs 20 lakh in order to obtain the position in the police department. A few days later, Palei again requested that Pradhan bring two job searchers to his office by calling him again.
Pradhan visited Palei’s workplace on March 27 with two of his pals and gave him Rs 2 lakh. Palei also promised to get Pradhan and his two pals Basanta and Manas employment in the Odisha Police in exchange for a total of Rs 13 lakh in cash and money transfers using the Phone Pe app.
