On Monday morning, a powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake slammed Japan’s northwest coast near the Noto Peninsula, sparking tsunami warnings.Following a powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake that caused a tsunami that apparently reached parts of the country’s coast, the Indian embassy in Japan has established an emergency control room and provided helpline numbers for Indian people. In a notification, the consulate stated that they are in constant communication with the relevant authorities and that “Embassy has set up an emergency control room for anyone to contact in connection with the earthquake and tsunami on January 1, 2024.”
