Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik instructed all the banks to extend the loans to deserving applicants to support the State’s economy on a stimulating path post Coronavirus pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has poorly affected the economy, and people are still trying to revive the losses in their business and other terms which were incurred during the pandemic.
At the meeting, many Senior officers of the department were also presented.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appreciated the efforts of the banks which worked as per the norms during the lockdown period. CM Patnaik applauded the employees who risked their lives and were working for the people. Reviewing credit linkage to farmers, Mission Shakti groups and MSMEs with collectors and bankers, CM appreciated all those who worked hard during the pandemic. CM further informed that the momentum must continue till every loan aspirant gets their due.
The lending rate by the banks to the farmers has improved. He even praised the performance in Sonepur, Balangir and Sundargarh. He also congratulated State Cooperative Bank, Canara Bank and Bandhan Bank for their achievement in this sector. He further appreciated the bank performance of Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Balasore districts for their credits to Mission Shakti groups.
CM also hoped that the banks would achieve their target in the coming three months as the loan to the SHGs is the Odisha Government’s top priority. He further stated that he would also hold another review meeting on 26th February 2021.
