Conference on 'Empowering odisha's the Growth Engine '

Bhubaneswar: A conference on ‘ Empowering the Growth Engine of Odisha’ organized by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Laghu Udyog Bharati was held at a star hotel. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Joined as the chief guest at the closing ceremony, said that by 2036, we have set a goal to build a prosperous Odisha and a developed Odisha. Along with this, we are also striving to place Odisha among the five best states in the country. To achieve this goal, we have started working on agriculture, industry and social development as growth engines. We need holistic development. Also, to achieve this goal, we are also giving importance to the development of our mining and metals, chemicals-petrochemicals, IT, startups, agriculture and food processing, tourism, MSME etc. sectors. Development in Odisha will not be for any specific sector or category. It will be inclusive development. For this, we have prepared a vision document, this is the document of the collective dreams of four and a half crore people of our state.

This document has been prepared considering the hopes and aspirations of every Odia living in our rural, urban and migrant areas. To build a prosperous Odisha, we have to acquire skills in all fields. Starting from education, health to agriculture, we have to become self-reliant in all fields. We have to build world-class infrastructure.

Along with this, Odisha has to lead in the fields of creating skilled human resources, adequate employment opportunities, technology, tourism and green energy.Our efforts are continuing to make the state industrially prosperous by utilizing the mineral resources of Odisha and also to make it a manufacturing hub. Through you, I want to tell the people of the state that every citizen is a pillar of our developed Odisha. This development journey belongs to all of you. Let us all make our Odisha prosperous and developed with our collective efforts.

In his welcome speech at the event, ICC Chairman Rajiv Sahu said that the target is to develop Odisha by 2036. The government has started the initiative for this. ICC is helping like a mouse. Odisha’s economy is growing. Due to the limited scope in Odisha, the youth are going to other states. Odisha is full of rich resources. It needs to be implemented properly. BJP State President Manmohan Samal, who was the special guest at the inaugural event, said that whatever is available in the whole world is available in Odisha. We have mines, minerals. We have nothing lacking. We need a strong will to transform Odisha. If we work hard, what could not be done in 50 years can be done in 5 years. If we work hard for a developed Odisha, we will not sell mines for vegetables and fish. Our people will not go to work. Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampada Chandra Swain added that today we are moving forward in the industrial sector. Our government is giving priority to growth in the industrial sector. How the investments coming to our state will be realized is our first priority. Because of mining in Odisha, mining base industries are being built. If there is a Natha Kakar plant in Paradip, then we can go a long way in petrochemicals. Priority is being given to the MSME sector in Odisha. More attention is being paid to how to make the young human resources skilled in Odisha. Our government is working to establish industries in every district of Odisha.

MSME and Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Gokulanand Mallik said that the time has already been set for building a developed Odisha in Odisha. A healthy society is necessary for a developed state and nation. This requires everyone’s efforts. We cannot just dream and work hard. We have abundant resources. We have youth power. We must utilize them and move forward. Only then can the dream of a developed Odisha be fulfilled. Even if MSME is small, it is a great donation. MSME contributes 30 percent to the GDP in the country. Odisha is moving towards development and thanks to our dear Prime Minister and Chief Minister. A developed Odisha will not happen if the government only wants it, efforts are needed in all fields . Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena said that our government is a two-month government in a year. Everyone is busy with work. Odisha is developing under the leadership of the Chief Minister. We have 386 mines, 57 iron. Odisha’s mines are at the top of the national map. Housing and Urban Development Minister Krishna Chandra Mohapatra Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishna Chandra Mohapatra said that urbanization has not developed. We are very backward. Cleanliness shows the civilization of a person. Drains are overflowing, water was on the roads. After our government came, we are paying attention to how all this is happening again. We are not only paying attention to Bhubaneswar but to all cities. The process has started on which city to give NAC status. No city has been urbanized according to planning. It has been done according to non-planning. After our government came, work is being done according to planning.

The target is for 36 to 40 percent urbanization by 2036. Laghu Udyog Bharati President Gopal Das Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary and IPICOL Chairman Hemant Sharma, Chief Secretary Bhupendra Singh Punia delivered their speeches.
