India Vs West Indies: Rohit Sharma Clinched Another T20 Series Win As Full Time Captain

Its yet another T20 series win for Rohit Sharma as full time white ball captain. After washing out New Zealand as his first assignment as full time T20 captain, Rohit Sharma as full time T20 Indian cpatin as now won the first 2 matches in the 3 match T20 series against West Indies, thereby winning yet another series.

However, the win in the 2nd T20 aginst West Indies yesterday in Kolkata was not easy. Even though India posted a good total of 186 for 5 thanks for the brilliant innings at death from Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer and a calm and composed 50 from Virat Kohli, for major part of the innings West Indies was at par with the chase. At one point it even looked West Indies game with 28 remaining in 2 overs with 2 set destructive batsman Pooran and Powell set in the crease with 50 plus score from each of them.

However, it was the second last over of Bhubaneshwar Kumar which changed the game. He just conceded 4 runs and took the wicket of Pooran. Even though Powell hit 2 sixes of Harshal Patel in the last over but the task was huge for West Indies. Eventually they lost the match by 8 runs. However, they had still seven wickets in hand.

Rishabh Pant for his quick 50 was names as the man of the match. India will now play the last T20 aginst West Indies on February 20th at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and will look to clean sweep the T20 series as well, after clean sweeping the one day series as well.
