Even though the whole cricketing world is eagerly waiting for IPL auction to be held on February 12th and 13th on Bengaluru, Team India is scheduled to play a home series against West Indies from 6th to 18th February. The series comprises of 3 ODIS and followed by 3T20I’s.
When the series was announced, there were 6 different venues assigned for 6 different matches. However, due to COVID 19 third wave, all the ODI matches were shifted to Ahmedabad and all the T20 matches were shifted to Kolkata.
It has been learnt that due to COVID 19 situation in Gujarat, all the ODI matches will be played under close doors. Whereas, all the T20 matches in Kolkata will be played with 75 percent of crowd capacity.
The series welcomes Rohit Sharma as full time white ball captain after being missed at South Africa due to injury. After a heavy defeat in South Africa team India will look to bounce back against West Indies.
