At the opening of the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) session at the Jio World Centre on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India will submit a bid to host the 2036 Olympics.
“India is quite eager to host the Olympics. India will exhaust all possibilities in our pursuit of hosting the 2036 Olympics. It is the goal of 140 billion Indians. We would want to realize our ambition with the assistance of IOC. Sports are the finest method to win hearts as well as medals, which is why they are so popular. In addition to producing champions, it also advances peace, according to Modi.
In the presence of IOC President Thomas Bach, the PM said that India is also eager to host the Youth Olympics in 2029 and expressed confidence in the IOC’s ongoing support.
“India is a fascinating country. “The entire Olympic community in India can be proud of the performance at the Asian Games,” the IOC president added. He opened his speech by extending a hearty welcome to PM Modi and wishing the audience a “namaste” (hello). India is just the second country to hold the IOC session; the first time was in New Delhi in 1983.
