The Indian Army signed eight procurement contracts under Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) on the initiative of Atmanirbhar Bharat. QuNu Labs had suggested a 200 mile single-hop Quantum key distribution in Open Challenge 2.0 under iDEX, according to the Ministry of Defence. It will take the place of algorithm-based encryption methods, allowing for increased security and the most efficient use of human resources. M/s QuNu Labs and I signed a contract for the purchase of a “Generation of Quantum Secure Key (quantum key distribution).” At South Block in New Delhi, this agreement was signed in the presence of Lieutenant General NC Raja Subramani, the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army.
According to MoD, the Prime Minister introduced the iDEX on April 12, 2018, during Defense Expo India 2018. The objective of iDEX is to provide a technologically supportive environment for innovation and advancement in the defense and aerospace industries by bringing together academia, research and development (R&D) institutes, industry, start-ups, MSMEs, and individual innovators. Additionally, it gives them money and other resources to do research and development that the Indian Defence and Aerospace Organization may use in the future.
inside the Defense Innovation Organization, iDEX has become a leader in connecting with startups and innovators and has garnered significant traction inside the Defense Startup Community. There are now 74 IA projects under iDEX, including those funded by the Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC), Open Challenge, and Acing Devp of Innovation Tech with iDEX (ADITI) programs. It entails providing 77 startups with support to help them build the newest, most advanced solutions possible for the Indian Army. The four supplied pieces of equipment from different iDEX initiatives are already being field tested by the Indian Army.
According to MoD authorities, further Spiral Development of the unique technology will be advanced in collaboration with startups, based on the outcomes of the field exploitation.
