Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, along with former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Balaram and 16 others, has been booked under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act, according to the police in Bengaluru. The case was registered at the Sadashiva Nagar police station on January 27, following directions from the 71st city civil and session court, PTI reported.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Durgappa, a former faculty member at the IISc’s Centre for Sustainable Technology, who alleges he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case in 2014 and subsequently dismissed from his position. Durgappa, a member of the Bovi tribal community, claims he faced caste-based abuse and threats during the incident.
In addition to Gopalakrishnan and Balaram, other individuals named in the case include Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan.
