Is Work From Home a dangerous situation for the workers?

A recent case where a woman got fired as she was shown unproductive during work.

After being found wasting time while working from home, a lady was required to pay her employer for “time theft.” She was employed remotely as an accountant for an MNC with headquarters in British Columbia, and she has been ordered to pay her employer Rs. 3 lakh. The business also let her go. When the employer acknowledged that she had changed the work hours, she was astounded. The woman apparently put in more than 50 hours in a workweek, but the employer claims that not all of that time was spent on actual labour.According to reports, the TimeCamp programme monitors people who work from home. The software discovered that the woman spent the majority of working hours away from her job.

After the company’s disclosures, the woman filed a lawsuit, saying that the programme did not distinguish between her work and personal time. She went on to add that she used paper while working. But after showcasing the software’s efficiency, the company disagreed with her claims. The judge consequently ruled that the woman must pay back her previous employer. As work-from-home and hybrid jobs become the new standard, more and more businesses are developing these solutions to guarantee productive work on the part of the employees.
