Newly elected U.S. President Joe Biden may elect Indian-American Neera Tanden as director of the Office of Management and Budget. Local media reported this on Sunday.
If Tanden is nominated for the position by the U.S. Senate, Ms. Tanden, 50, will be the first black woman in the White House to be the head of effective management and budget management. Neera Tanden is currently the chief executive of the Left Center for American Progress.

The head of the OMB will be responsible for preparing Biden’s budget and will direct hundreds of budget analysts, economists and policy advisers with deep knowledge of the government’s internal work.
According to the Washington Post, Tanden will be under pressure to curb government spending. But now she is likely to play an important role in formulating the Biden administration’s plan to deal with the financial downturn.
Earlier, the newly elected President of the United States, Joe Biden, formed his new cabinet. For the first time, the president has selected an all-women press team. “I’m proud to announce the All-Women’s Senior Team at the White House for the first time today,” Joe Biden said in a statement. With this diverse and experienced press team, the country will once again be on the path of improvement due to their diverse perspectives and expertise.
