M Modi Stresses On Technology For Strengthening Agri Sector

Today, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Sakhigopal, Puri, hosted the inauguration of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, a revolutionary statewide initiative to revolutionize Indian agriculture. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the audience via video conference, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke personally with farmers from all around Odisha. Over the course of the next 15 days, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, will lead the campaign, which aims to equip farmers with state-of-the-art technology, scientific understanding, and climate-resilient farming methods.

The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is a crucial step toward modernizing agriculture and empowering farmers, according to Prime Minister Modi’s speech. He underlined the campaign’s objective of bringing together 2,000 teams—made up of scientists, professionals, authorities, and forward-thinking farmers—with farmers in more than 700 districts as the Kharif season draws near. Over the course of the next 12 to 15 days, these teams will contact lakhs of farmers in rural regions, providing them with tools and expertise to improve sustainability and production.

Modi wished farmers and campaign participants well, saying, “This campaign will pave a new path for the progress of farmers leading the modernization of agriculture.” He emphasized the need of using technology and innovation to boost India’s agriculture industry by quickly disseminating scientific findings and productive farming practices to the larger farming community.
