Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar Wins Double Honours at Kanak News Health Conclave 2026

In a proud moment for healthcare in Odisha, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar walked away with two prestigious awards at the Kanak News Health Conclave, cementing its reputation as one of Eastern India's most trusted centres of medical excellence.

The hospital was honoured for its outstanding work in two critical departments the Centre of Excellence in Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Fetal Medicine, and the Department of General, Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery. The awards were presented by Chief Guest Shri Prithviraj Harichandan, Honourable Minister of Law, Government of Odisha, in a ceremony that brought together some of the state’s most prominent healthcare figures and policymakers.

The award for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department was received by a team of dedicated doctors Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Monica Gupta, Dr. Shivani Devi, Dr. Bharat Bhusan, and Dr. Laxminarayan Sahu alongside Dr. Saktimaya Mohapatra, Cluster Director South East, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar. The surgical recognition went to Dr. Ramya Ranjan Behera, Dr. Lalatendu Mohapatra, and Dr. Saurajit Patnaik.

But the recognition went beyond just the trophies. During the event, the hospital’s gynaecology team also participated in a panel discussion on “Modern Lifestyle and Its Impact on Women’s Health” a timely and important conversation around preventive care, early diagnosis, healthy habits, and the need for regular health check ups, particularly for women navigating the pressures of today’s fast paced world.

Reflecting on the double win, Dr. Saktimaya Mohapatra said, “These recognitions are a reflection of the dedication, clinical expertise, and patient-centric approach of our teams across specialties. At Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, we remain committed to advancing quality healthcare services, promoting awareness around preventive health, and delivering comprehensive care with compassion and clinical excellence for the communities we serve.” The Kanak News Health Conclave is an annual event that convenes leading healthcare professionals, institutions, and industry leaders to address pressing health issues and celebrate excellence in medical services across Odisha. Being recognised at such a platform holds significant weight in the region’s healthcare landscape.

This latest achievement is not an isolated milestone. In December 2025, the hospital was named Odisha’s Most Trusted Healthcare Brand at the Aatma Nirbhar Odisha Business Leadership Awards, organised by News18 Odia making it the only healthcare institution to be recognised in that category. Earlier in 2025, it also received the Best Multispeciality Hospital (Private) honour at The Week Health Summit.

Since its establishment in 2014, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar has become a cornerstone of specialised medical care in the region. The hospital today records nearly five lakh patient footfalls annually, serving patients from across Odisha and neighbouring states including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh. It has also crossed the milestone of over two lakh surgeries, including many complex and high risk procedures.

The hospital has quickly become synonymous with technology driven care at affordable rates, with patient satisfaction at the heart of everything it does.

As part of the broader Manipal Hospitals network one of India’s largest healthcare groups with 49 hospitals across 24 cities, over 12,600 beds, and more than 11,000 doctors the Bhubaneswar unit continues to raise the bar for what quality regional healthcare can look like. With a growing emphasis on innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and community outreach, the hospital’s vision is clear: to make world-class healthcare accessible to every corner of Eastern India.
