Ranendra Pratap Swain, the minister of agriculture and farmers’ empowerment, presided over a review meeting on the KALIA scheme’s execution in Odisha on Monday at Krushi Bhawan. More than 61 lakh people have been served by the program thus far. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the issue of people who were excluded from the program for a variety of reasons, such as an Aadhaar bank account seeding failure. To address these problems, the agency suggested holding a drive in every block in the state.
The formation of the KALIA Commission, which would oversee the program’s execution and provide suggestions on potential aid or incentives for farmers’ wellbeing, was also discussed during the conference. The department also suggested expanding the scope of the KALIA Scholarship to include more technical or professional courses and private schools in order to provide children of KALIA grantees with greater options for education and skill advancement.
The Government of Odisha has launched a big program called the KALIA Scheme to assist farmers, sharecroppers, and landless agricultural households. With these recommended actions, the agriculture industry and its stakeholders should be supported in a more thorough and inclusive manner.
The Minister also went through the department’s different initiatives’ 5T implementation status. Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, the department’s principal secretary, revealed that the department has set a record for millet acquisition. Ragi has been purchased in excess of 6 lakh quintals this year. All other areas, such as Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyoga Yojana (MKUY), Crop Diversification, Farm Pond Plus, and Support to FPOs, are also performing exceedingly well for the department. The Minister gave the department instructions to finish any unfinished goals by the end of June.
