Odisha CM flags off 190 police vehicles to enhance operational capabilities

According to a news release from the government, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday officially unveiled 190 new police cars to improve the state police’s operating capabilities.

“This addition of vehicles is in line with the commitment to improving public safety, quick response times during emergencies, ensuring justice, solving crimes, and creating a secure environment for Odisha citizens,” the statement continued. A total of 224 cars of various manufacturers will be added to the police fleet in 2023–2024 at a cost of Rs 33 crore, according to the official press release.”The remaining 34 vehicles will be received soon,” the statement continued.

The statement said, “The Odisha Mining Corporation Limited contributed 44 vehicles to strengthen police stations in mining areas, speed up patrolling, and address the issue of illegal mineral mining throughout the state.” The state police has made significant progress in making Odisha safer and more secure for all of its citizens under the direction of CM Patnaik, it was said.
