Mumbai Police locates the accused in the BMW hit-and-run case in two days

The son of Shiv Sena politician Rajesh Shah, Mihir Shah, is an absconding culprit in the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case. He was apprehended by police on Tuesday, two days after he was accused of crashing his luxury car into a two-wheeler, killing a woman and hurting her husband. Mihir Shah, 24, of Virar, near Mumbai, was taken into custody after he managed to avoid the police since Sunday morning.From Shahapur in the Thane district, Mihir Shah’s mother and two sisters were sent to Mumbai for interrogation. Ten other people are also being questioned, an official was cited by news agency PTI as saying.

On July 7, early in the morning, in the Worli neighbourhood of south central Mumbai, a two-wheeler was accused of being struck from behind by the BMW driven by Mihir Shah. Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, who was riding in the rear, died in this crash; her husband Pradeep Nakhwa, however, survived with injuries.The fast car dragged Kaveri Nakhwa for around 1.5 km when Mihir Shah pulled it over, changed seats with his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, and took off in another car, as per the Mumbai Police.
