Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, Narendra Modi on Thursday held discussions with leaders of Qatar, France, Jordan, Oman, and Malaysia, expressing deep concern over the deteriorating regional situation.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned recent attacks targeting energy infrastructure and emphasized the urgent need for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace, security, and stability. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring safe and uninterrupted movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Iran intensified strikes on oil and gas facilities across the Gulf in retaliation for an Israeli attack on South Pars, the Iranian section of the world’s largest gas field shared with Qatar.
As tensions rose, Donald Trump warned that the United States would respond with overwhelming force if Iran continues its attacks on neighbouring nations.
