Returning with a powerful storyline is the second season of the thriller series on Indian news journalism. On May 3, it will make its ZEE5 debut.The Broken News (2022) is returning for its second season. Recently, the trailer for the film starring Sonali Bendre, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shriya Pilgaonkar was unveiled. In its second installment, The Broken News 2, goes further deeper into yellow journalism, TRP wars, politics, and criminality.
The Broken News’s first season features the framing of Radha Bhargava, nicknamed Shriya, as a terrorist, leading to her imprisonment. But in the follow-up, Radha exacts her revenge on Diapankar Sanyal, also known as Jaideep Ahlawat. Radha informs Ameena Qureshi, played by Sonali, about a scoop that will ruin Dipankar’s career at the beginning of the trailer. Ameena makes a concerted effort to convince Radha of the true value of journalism, without deviating from her objective. However, Dipankar and Radha have both decided to engage in a fierce competition in the newsroom, going to any lengths to win. Dipankar plans to kill Radha while she seeks to gain political support.

The two-minute, twenty-six-second teaser depicts media involvement in overthrowing a government. It also raises questions about journalists battling one another out of personal grudges rather than pursuing justice and the truth. The film, directed by Vinay Vaikul, offers an insight into the relationship between politicians and the media, which could have an impact on future elections. The rivalry between Josh24X7’s TRP-hungry Dipankar and Awaaz Bharti’s idealistic editor Ameena is also expected to intensify in the upcoming season.
