The World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar hosted a special workshop on “Vision OCCL @ 2036 and Vision OCCL @ 2047” on Thursday to commemorate the 63rd Foundation Day of the Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd. (OCCL). The event, which laid out ambitious goals for the future while reflecting on more than 60 years of accomplishments, was a significant milestone for the organization, according to an official press release. Anu Garg, the OCCL Chairperson and Development Commissioner-turned-Additional Chief Secretary, served as the event’s main guest.
During her speech, Garg commended the OCCL team for their efforts and emphasized the necessity for the company to improve its technological capabilities. She emphasized how crucial it is to improve job quality to meet national requirements and include mechanical specialists in critical operational areas. She went on to say that OCCL’s increasing capacity to undertake department-wide infrastructure projects, both inside and outside of Odisha, is evidence of its developing repute and self-sufficiency.
The ceremony began with a talk by Bibhuti Bhusan Dash, OCCL’s managing director, detailing the organization’s history from its establishment in 1962. He discussed OCCL’s track record of accomplishments and its important contribution to the state’s infrastructure development, specifically in the areas of building construction, roads, irrigation, and power. Senior experts from academic and engineering domains also gave a number of talks throughout the event.
They exchanged ideas about how OCCL might expand its reach across the country, update its operations, and adjust to new technology. Following their contributions, top Water Resources Department officials, including Engineers-in-Chief, Chief Engineers, and Additional Chief Engineers, as well as OCCL members and other dignitaries, participated in an active brainstorming session.
The main topics of discussion were OCCL’s future direction and enhancing its capacity to provide top-notch infrastructure in a cutthroat market. An important turning point in OCCL’s history was the Foundation Day workshop, which reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and expansion. It demonstrated a common goal of making OCCL a nationally renowned leader in construction by 2047 while maintaining its position as a cornerstone of Odisha’s growth.
