Under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) plan, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave over 64 lakh Small & Marginal Farmers (SMF) and Landless Agricultural Households (LAH) in the state a total of over Rs. 1293.75 crore. This significant cash injection is intended to improve farming livelihoods and promote the general welfare of farmers in Odisha.

The 11th tranche of KALIA support, which would help over 45.67 lakh small and marginal farmers and 40,000 landless agricultural households through Direct help Transfer (DBT), will receive over Rs. 933 crores from the Chief Minister for the Kharif 2024 season.

An additional amount exceeding Rs. 360 Crores was given to 18,03,401 eligible landless agricultural households, enabling them to augment their livelihood activities and significantly improve their income and general well-being. For those who have already received all three installments of their livelihood cash support under the scheme, or a total of Rs. 12,500, this additional financial support comes in the form of a one-time payment of Rs. 2,000. This day saw the distribution of Rs. 1293.75 crore to over 64 lakh KALIA beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister underlined the scheme’s distinctiveness and stressed how it helps farmers by giving them timely financial support at the beginning of the agricultural cycle, which acts as a starting investment for farming. Furthermore, the government’s dedication to comprehensive socioeconomic development is demonstrated by the awarding of KALIA Scholarships to the offspring of beneficiaries.
