Odisha CM Flags Off 181 Mobile Veterinary Unit Vehicles

181 Mobile Veterinary Unit Vehicles were officially unveiled by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today during a ceremony held at the city’s Kalinga Stadium. The Mukhyamntri Bhramyaman Pranichikitsa Seva in the state will employ these new vehicles to deliver health care to livestock animals, according to an official news release. The Chief Minister stated in a video message that Mobile Veterinary Units are striving to offer veterinary services right to the doorstep of farmers and livestock keepers in communities that are remote from veterinary facilities.

The state government is always working to improve comfort, increase revenue, and brighten the faces of livestock producers. Farmers, Women Self self-help groups, and businesses have chosen the Animal Resources Development sector as the next stage of growth. For the management of animal health and the rural population’s means of subsistence, veterinary healthcare and advising services are crucial.

Until recently, rented cars were used to transport mobile veterinary units. The state government has now given its own trucks for use in 181 mobile veterinary units across all districts, spending around Rs 30 crore in the first phase. Mobile Veterinary Units are responsible for organizing farmer awareness campaigns as well as providing basic animal healthcare, sophisticated surgery, immunization, and diagnostic services for livestock healthcare to farmers. The state administration is dedicated to the welfare of animals, the chief minister added. Through the Animal Helpline, these mobile veterinarian units will offer stray and abandoned animals emergency medical care when they are in need.
