Odisha CM Praises ‘Kashi-Tamil Sangam’ As A Symbol Of India’s Cultural Harmony

Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha, attended the Varanasi-hosted Kashi-Tamil Sangam 3.0 program today. Majhi said in an official press release that the Kashi-Tamil Sangam is a singular illustration of India’s unity and cultural legacy. The Chief Minister underlined that although the languages, traditions, and customs of India’s many regions may differ, all Indians share the same spiritual ethos, love for one another, and peace. He claimed that what sets India apart from other countries is its cultural cohesiveness. He went on to say, “This shared consciousness binds us all together as essential components of the great Indian cultural heritage.”

Notably, in 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Kashi-Tamil Sangam initiative to fortify and advance India’s cultural cohesion. This year, starting on February 15, the event will take place in Varanasi’s Namo Ghat. Anil Rajbhar, the cabinet minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Sukanta Majumdar, the union minister of state for education, accompanied the chief minister at today’s event.

“The spiritual connection between Kashi and Tamil Nadu is ancient,” the Chief Minister said, expressing his satisfaction in taking part in the event. Kashi represents India’s enduring spiritual traditions and is more than just a city. The ancient language, literature, stunning temples, and philosophical traditions of Tamil Nadu have also contributed to the enrichment of Indian culture. Our variety and solidarity are demonstrated by the Kashi-Tamil Sangam.

He added that the spirit of Indian cultural ideas is also embodied in Odisha. People of various religions and cultures take part in the big Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, and devotees travel from all over the nation to visit the Shree Jagannath Temple. Spreading this magnificent Indian spiritual ethos has been greatly aided by the Shree Jagannath culture.
