Odisha Govt Releases Guidelines For ‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ Scheme

Guidelines for the “Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha” program, a revolutionary project meant to speed up rural development throughout the state, have been made public by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department of the Odisha government. The program’s main goal is to overcome important infrastructural gaps so that rural Odisha may thrive holistically and inclusively. In order to improve the standard of living in villages and promote economic growth, the program places a high priority on road connections, municipal amenities, education, tourism, and sports infrastructure.

Key Features of the Scheme

  2. Civic Amenities & Community Projects

  4. Sports & Tourism Development

    • Improvement of micro-tourism spots to promote local attractions.
  5. Project Selection & Execution
    • Projects will be identified through a participatory planning process, starting from Gram Sabhas.
    • Zilla Parishads will oversee fund allocation, with 40% earmarked for ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Agency) Blocks.
    • The District Collector will approve project lists, ensuring timely completion.
  6. Monitoring & Transparency
    • A web-based MIS and mobile app will be developed for real-time tracking.
    • Projects will be geo-tagged at different stages of implementation.
    • Regular social audits and inspections will be conducted to maintain accountability.

The State Budget will provide all of the funding for the program, with some leeway in how funds are distributed in certain situations. “Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha” aims to improve the socioeconomic fabric of Odisha’s villages and close long-standing developmental gaps, transforming rural landscapes.
