The recent spike in dengue infections in the southern areas has health experts on edge. With the discovery of a patient in Berhampur on Friday, the number of people in the Ganjam district infected with dengue in the previous two days has risen to three, including a lady.
According to health department authorities, the lady returned from Bhubaneswar, while the other two males from Chikiti and Sheraga blocks travelled to Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru, respectively.
Dr Uma Mishra, chief district medical officer (CDMO), stated that health officials have begun cleaning the regions where these patients dwell. However, he asked the people to clean up the stagnant water spots. “Special wards have also been prepared at MKCG MCH for dengue patients,” he said.
Similarly, two additional dengue-positive cases were recorded two days ago from G Udayagiri area in Kandhamal district. One patient was a guy from Badenaju village, while the other was a lady from Kalinga village.
