On August 29 and 30, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Parliamentary Committee will hold its two-day National Conference in Odisha. Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla will open the conference, which will focus on the empowerment, development, and well-being of SCs and STs. “The Role of Parliamentary and Legislative Committees in Welfare, Development, and Empowerment of SCs and STs” is the conference’s subject. In order to empower SCs and STs, the conference will concentrate on improving socioeconomic growth, fortifying constitutional protections, and exchanging best practices.
Prominent luminaries such as Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and more than 120 guests from over the nation would be present at the event. In Odisha, this would be the first Parliamentary Committee meeting since 1994. Following cultural performances, the conference will include an exhibition on Odisha’s handicrafts, artisanship, culture, and art. Delegates will have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath at Puri and visit the Konark Sun Temple following the seminar.
The valedictory ceremony will be addressed by Governor Hari Babu Khambampati, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and state ministers. The conference aims to ensure accountability in the implementation of welfare policies and realize an inclusive Viksit Bharat by 2047
