A 56-year-old woman Sushama Padhi from Soro Block of the Balasore district formed a charitable trust in the name of his deceased son Diptikanta and donated all her property to the trust for the benefit of the poor on his second death anniversary on February 23.
Further Sushama also donated her body to the Anatomy department of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for study and research purposes, exactly what Diptikant wished to do after his death when he was alive.
According to the official reports, Sushama lost Diptikanta to a road mishap exactly two years back this day. Diptikanta was a social worker and helped the poor and the needy by whatever ways he could afford. Sushama’s husband had abandoned her years ago and Diptikanta was her only possession.
