Born on the 15th of August, 1980, in the millennium city of Cuttack, Odisha, Shri Patnaik hails from a family of sterling political lineage, with his father, the late Arun Kumar Patnaik, having served as an MLA in the state assembly. Imbued with the spirit of his parents’ unwavering commitment to bringing about positive change in the lives of their constituents, Shri Patnaik was inspired by the likes of Biju Pattnaik, a former Chief Minister of Odisha and his political idol.
Motivated by a deep sense of civic duty, Shri Patnaik forsook a lucrative career to contest the 2014 elections as an MLA of the Biju Janata Dal, representing the Khandapada assembly constituency, where he emerged victorious against Shri Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.
A paragon of leadership, Shri Patnaik, has been recognized by esteemed organizations such as NASSCOM and Tata Trusts, who have invited him to share his experiences in the domains of agriculture and digital technology. He has also served as a board member of esteemed institutions such as Xavier University Bhubaneswar, IIIT Bhubaneswar, and the Odisha State Housing Board.
With a passion for governance and public service, Shri Patnaik participated in the “Professional Fellows Program on Governance and Society, South and Central Asia” held in the United States, a project sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by World Learning, which aimed to foster a two-way exchange of ideas and best practices in policymaking and legislative processes among emerging leaders from India, Pakistan, Nepal, and the U.S
