President Droupadi Murmu will visit Maharashtra for three days, participating in a number of political, social, and educational events throughout the state. The President will attend the Shri Warana Women Co-operative Group’s golden jubilee celebration at Warananagar in Kolhapur on September 2nd, the first day of her visit.
She is scheduled to speak at Symbiosis International (Deemed University)’s 21st convocation in Pune on September 3. She will travel to Mumbai for the Maharashtra Legislative Council’s centennial celebration that same day. On Wednesday, President Murmu will officially open the Buddha Vihar at Udgir, in the Latur district.
She will also speak at a meeting of the Maharashtra government’s “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna” and “Shasan Aplya Dari” beneficiaries in Udgir. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, introduced the ambitious Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana in mid-August. The program will provide Rs 1,500 a month to eligible women beneficiaries who fall between the age range of 21 and 65. After winning an Assembly election, Shinde has pledged that the MahaYuti administration will gradually raise the monthly financial aid from the current Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500 and then Rs 3,000.
Launched in May 2023 in Satara, Maharashtra, and then expanding throughout the state, the “Shasan Aplya Dari” program seeks to offer the advantages of government schemes and papers at one place.
