Prime Minister Modi’s chief adviser PK Sinha resigns citing ‘personal reasons’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s chief adviser, PK Sinha, resigned on Monday. According to information received from his office, he has already tendered his resignation. PK Sinha cited personal reasons behind his resignation. Since the resignation of Nrupendra Mishra, he has been the Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister since 2019. It is learned that PK Sinha resigned on Monday.

PK Sinha, an 1977-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, held key positions during Modi’s tenure. Sinha was the Cabinet Secretary before the Modi government. He replaced Ajit Seth, who was appointed cabinet secretary during the UPA. Prior to becoming Cabinet Secretary, he was Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Shipping.

After retiring from the post of Cabinet Secretary in 2014, a special post was created for him in the PMO. He was appointed to the Prime Minister’s Office as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD). Following the resignation of Nrupendra Mishra from the PMO, PK Sinha has been appointed as Prime Minister Modi’s chief adviser. His name is still on the government’s official website.
