Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit poll-bound Assam and West Bengal on 7th February to lay the foundation stone for several infrastructure projects.
As per the official statement, PM Modi will visit Assam and will lay the foundation stone of two hospitals and will also launch ‘Asom Mala’ which is a programme for the state highways and major district roads at Dhekiajuli in the state’s Sonitpur district. Later the PM will visit Haldia in West Bengal where he will lay the foundation stone of key infrastructure projects.
According to the report, Modi will dedicate to the nation to the LPG import terminal built by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in West Bengal, which has been constructed with an investment of around Rs 1,100 crore and has a capacity of one million metric tonnes per annum.
He will also dedicate the 348 km Dobhi-Durgapur Natural Gas Pipeline section to the nation which is part of the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga project. He will later lay the foundation stone of the second Catalytic-Isodewaxing Isodewaxing unit of Haldia Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation, which will have a capacity of 270 thousand metric tonnes per annum, and once commissioned, is expected to result in a saving of about $185 million in foreign exchange.
After the inauguration, PM Modi will also dedicate the four-lane ROB-cum-flyover at Ranichak, Haldia on NH 41 to the nation which has been built at the cost of Rs 190 crore.
In Assam, the Prime Minister will launch ‘Asom Mala’, which is aimed at helping improve state highways and major district roads network in the state. The programme is unique for its emphasis on effective maintenance through continuous field data collection and its linkage with the Road Asset Management System.
For two medical colleges and hospitals, the stone lay foundation will be done by PM Modi. These are being set up at Biswanath and Charaideo which is at a total estimated projects cost of over 1100 crore. Even each of the hospital will have a capacity of 500 beds and 100 MBBS seats.
