Public Relations Conclave held at IIMC Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A one-day Public Relations Conclave was organized by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal and Tata Steel on Wednesday at Spandan Auditorium of IIMC, Dhenkanal.

Around 50 working journalists from Dhenkanal district attended the conclave on ‘Public Relations and Journalism: Challenges and Opportunities’ held at the Spandan Auditorium of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal. The conclave was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok Panda, President, Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Indian Public Relations Council, Professor Anand Pradhan, Regional Director, IIMC Dhenkanal, Dr. G.C. Dash, OSD, IIMC Dhenkanal and Joint Director, Press Information Bureau, Bhubaneswar, Subhranshu Panda, Chief Corporate Communication Officer, Tata Steel Meramandali and Senior Journalist Ratan Nair.

IIMC Dhenkanal Regional Director Professor Anand Pradhan gave the opening remarks and outlined the purpose of the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. Biranchi Narayan Seth, Assistant Professor, English Journalism, IIMC, Dhenkanal.

In the second session, Dr. Chirsrota Jena, Assistant Professor, Odia Journalism, IIMC, Dhenkanal, discussed on ‘Application of Artificial Intelligence in Journalism’. In this, Dr. Jena presented various artificial intelligence tools with examples. The speaker answered the questions of the journalists who attended the conference.

Similarly, in the third session, Suhranshu Panda, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Tata Steel Meramandali, addressed the students on various challenges in the field of public relations, ethical aspects and various aspects of disaster management. The session was organized in coordination with Sanat Padhi, Academic Associate, IIMC Dhenkanal and the vote of thanks was given by Academic Associate Soumya Ranjan Bihara.
