Although the fashion-forward aren’t exactly fans of wearable technology, Meta and Ray-Ban’s new collection of smart glasses are undoubtedly more stylish than geeky. The new smart glasses, which were just unveiled at Meta Connect, are a replacement for the Ray-Ban Stories from 2021. And this time, Meta is actually branding the item under its name. The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses start at $299 (about Rs. 24,999) for the basic lenses, $329 (roughly Rs. 27,400) for polarised lenses, and $379 (roughly Rs. 31,500) for transition lenses.

The spectacles would be offered in 150 various custom lens frame and lens design combinations, according to Meta. On October 17, these spectacles will go on sale. The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses for India have not yet been released by Meta. The Ray-Ban glasses’ Qualcomm AR1 Gen 1 chip could theoretically handle embedded displays, but Meta decided not to include any this time.

Two 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras are built inside the glasses, allowing users to capture 1080p films up to one minute in length. Additionally, wearers will be able to livestream content to Facebook and Instagram.

The new item also has incredibly sophisticated AI skills, such as the capacity to instantly translate different languages and recognise locations and objects that people are seeing in real time.
However, this time around, there is a considerably wider selection of styles and hues available, including Headliner and Wayfarer frames. A generally conventional-looking design is made more interesting by transparent frame options in blue, yellow, and black that reveal the structure of the circuitry in the arms.
