25-Year-Old Woman and Her Newborn Die in Rewa Hospital; Her Distressing Video Before Delivery Sparks Outrage
A deeply disturbing case from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh is rapidly spreading across social media.
Twenty-five-year-old Kalpana Mishra had been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for her first delivery. A video recorded shortly before the delivery shows her visibly distressed and pleading with her family to take her away from the hospital.
The video became viral after her death.
Kalpana and her newborn subsequently died during treatment. Her family has alleged serious medical negligence and inappropriate behaviour by hospital staff.
Hospital authorities have denied negligence and said the matter requires investigation. Two nursing officers have been suspended and an inquiry committee has been formed. Post-mortem examinations are also being used to determine the exact cause of death.
