In the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, at Duduruchampa under the Nanana range in Similipal Tiger Reserve, the corpse of a Royal Bengal Tiger was discovered by Forest Department workers. The tiger is thought to be roughly 3.5 years old. On February 5, a patrolling crew from the Similipal Tiger Reserve discovered the male tiger’s carcass in Duduruchampa. The animal is thought to be 3.5 years old, according to regional chief forest conservator Prakash Chand Gogineni.
Goginei claims that the tiger carcass was postmortemed on February 6 in accordance with protocol, and samples have been forwarded to Wildlife Health for analysis in order to determine the precise cause of the animal’s death.
Another melanistic male Royal Bengal tiger was found dead in the core area of the Similipal Tiger Reserve in May last year. The cause of death is believed to be infighting between two males.
