Schools Shut, Internet Suspended in Haryana’s Nuh Ahead of Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra

The Haryana government has imposed restrictions in Nuh district ahead of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, citing security concerns. The move comes in the backdrop of communal clashes that broke out during the same yatra two years ago.

As a precautionary measure, the state government has suspended mobile internet, bulk SMS, and data services across the district for 24 hours. The suspension will remain in effect until 9 PM on Monday, as per an official order issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of Haryana. However, SMS services related to banking, mobile recharges, and voice calls will continue.

In addition, all government and private schools in the district will remain shut on Monday, July 14. “In the interest of student safety and convenience, all schools will remain closed for the day,” said Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena. The District Education Officer has been directed to ensure strict compliance.

Security has been ramped up across Nuh, with additional personnel deployed to maintain law and order during the yatra.
