The East Coast Railway’s Bhubaneswar/Cuttack-Angul-Sambalpur Railway Route’s Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Super Fast Inter City Express (22839/22840) in both directions would stay cancelled on December 12, 2022. This is because doubling work between Talcher Road and Angul is still being done.Similar to this, the Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Express (18125/18126) from Rourkela will similarly be discontinued from Rourkela from December 11–13 and from Puri from December 12–14, 2022.
On December 10, 2022, the Amritsar-Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express (22808) will run from Amritsar through Jharsuguda Road-Sambalpur-Angul-Bhubaneswar instead of the original route via Jharsuguda-Rourkela-Chakradharpur-Jaroli-Jakhapura-Cuttack-Bhubaneswar.
On December 11, a few minutes of the route for the Sai Nagar Shirdi-Puri Express (20858) from Sai Nagar and the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express (20818) from New Delhi will be under control.
According to ECoR sources, the East Coast Railway’s Bhubaneswar/Cuttack-Angul-Sambalpur Railway Route’s continuing doubling construction between Talcher Road and Angul will be finished as soon as possible.
This is a major project in Odisha for a crucial rail link, and once it is finished, the train traffic on the route would run smoothly.
When the project is finished, it will give the currently congested Talcher-Angul stretch a crucial railway link.
