Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025 – Promoting Innovation & Tradition With SHGs

Thousands of people continue to visit Janata Maidan for the Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025, examining the diverse selection of exclusive SHG items. With its creative offers and traditional arts, the bustling marketplace has developed into a center for cross-cultural and cross-business interaction. In the meanwhile, the food court continues to be a popular destination, attracting large audiences with its mouthwatering assortment of organic fruit, millet-based treats, and traditional Odia flavors that honor the spirit of regional cooking.

On Day 6, Nibedita SHG from Mohana block, Gajapati, highlighted organic hand wash, dishwashing soap, and liquid detergent as examples of eco-friendly home necessities. Created by Mission Shakti members, these eco-friendly items help women entrepreneurs in the home goods industry while showcasing Odisha’s dedication to sustainable solutions.

The visit of Sofia Firdous, MLA, Barabati-Cuttack, and Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan, MLA, Parjanga, Dhenkanal, who spoke with SHG members and praised their endeavors in business and skill development, further enhanced the mela. A captivating Daskathia performance, a traditional folk tale art form, enthralled the audience as part of the evening cultural program, which combined history and music. Visitors were enthralled by a captivating singing performance during the melody night, which marked the end of the celebrations.

Every day that goes by, the Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025 keeps setting new records. By the conclusion of Day 6, there were more than 1.5 lakh visits overall, and the total sales revenue had risen to nearly ₹2 crore, demonstrating the tremendous demand and rising consumer awareness of SHG products. All guests are urged to continue honoring Odisha’s rich cultural legacy and to provide their support to the inspirational women entrepreneurs spearheading the state’s economic transformation as the mela enters its closing days.
