Bhubaneswar: Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Limited’s Aluminium Business at Jharsuguda, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Odisha State Council for the 2025–26 term.
Bringing with him over 30 years of extensive industry experience, Gupta is well-regarded for his leadership in building world-class operations and promoting sustainable business practices at Vedanta. In his new role, he is expected to drive policy reforms, foster stronger industry-government collaboration, and attract significant investments to further establish Odisha as a leading hub for manufacturing and industrial development.
Joining Gupta on the leadership team is Suresha G, Executive Director of Odisha Assets Operation at AM/NS India, who has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the Council.
Speaking on his appointment, Gupta expressed his commitment to contributing towards Odisha’s economic growth. The CII Odisha State Council under his leadership plans to strengthen its presence across western Odisha and deepen partnerships with various government departments to facilitate industrial expansion and sustainable development.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) continues to play a vital role in shaping India’s economic landscape, and the new leadership is expected to infuse fresh energy into Odisha’s industrial initiatives.
