The Supreme Court on Monday summoned Chief Secretaries of all states and Union Territories—barring West Bengal, Telangana, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi—for failing to submit compliance affidavits in the ongoing stray dogs matter.
The bench expressed concern that despite earlier directions to sterilise and vaccinate stray dogs before releasing them back, most states had not filed the required affidavits. Only West Bengal, Telangana, and the MCD have complied so far. The summoned officials have been directed to appear before the court on November 3 to explain the delay.
