Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, currently serving as the Executive Director of Human Resources at Indian Oil, has been appointed as the Human Resource Director of the National Aluminium Company (NALCO). His candidacy for this key role at the public-sector unit, which operates under the Ministry of Mines, was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). Pattanayak brings extensive experience in human resources and strategic management, positioning him to lead NALCO’s HR initiatives effectively.

Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, an alumnus of Utkal University with a background in personnel management, industrial relations, and law, is set to take the helm as Human Resource Director at the National Aluminium Company (NALCO). Pattanayak began his career as a personnel officer at Hindustan Copper, gaining valuable experience in the industry. In his new role at NALCO, he will oversee staff management and develop the company’s human resources strategy, reporting directly to the Chairman and Managing Director. Additionally, he will handle industrial relations, ensuring a cohesive and productive work environment for the organization.

Tapas Kumar Pattanayak’s appointment as Human Resource Director at the National Aluminium Company (NALCO) comes with significant responsibilities, including the formulation of the human resource policy for the esteemed ‘Navaratna’ enterprise. In this pivotal role, Pattanayak is expected to play a key part in the company’s expansion and management efforts. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) recently conducted interviews for the position of Human Resource Director at the National Aluminium Company (NALCO), assessing 11 candidates from various prominent organizations. Contenders included executives from the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), Indian Oil (IOC), National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), and National Textile Corporation (NTCL). After thorough evaluation, Tapas Kumar Pattanayak was selected for the role, highlighting his strong qualifications and experience in human resource management.
