Contenders included executives from the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), Indian Oil (IOC), National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), and National Textile Corporation (NTCL). After thorough evaluation, Tapas Kumar Pattanayak was selected for the role, highlighting his strong qualifications and experience in human resource management.
